Beginning now, the PLCA is underwriting its 12-week paid summer internship program in 2020 with donations, instead of a Gridiron, the dinner and comedy fundraiser that we have organized in past years.
By donating, you can help support summer internships that give student journalists a crash course in covering one of the nation's largest state governments while working alongside professional journalists. They are trained by the members of the PLCA who, combined, have decades of experience in covering all sorts of stories, in addition to state government, and give their time free-of-charge to help these student journalists learn on the job.
Donations are not tax deductible; the PLCA is a 501c6 non-profit. However, we are exploring changing our status to become a tax-deductible 501c3 non-profit.
One note: as a matter of transparency, the PLCA plans to make public the names of its donors.
